Greece's western shore keeps a slower clock. This journey begins in Arkoudi, a small seaside village in the Peloponnese where pine trees lean over golden sand and the Ionian glows at sunset — two days to arrive properly, with Ancient Olympia and a Frankish castle within easy reach.
A short ferry carries you to Zakynthos for sea caves, the famous shipwreck cove and the quiet bays where loggerhead turtles nest. The last crossing is the most storied of all: north to Ithaca, the island Odysseus spent ten years trying to reach — green hills, deep harbours and a farewell dinner by the water.

Arrival on the Ionian coast
Your driver meets you in Athens or at Araxos airport and follows the coast road west to Arkoudi. Settle into your seafront hotel, walk the sand before dinner and watch the sun drop into the sea with Zakynthos on the horizon.
Olympia, a castle and the thermal coast
A morning among the temples and the original stadium of Ancient Olympia with a private guide, before the day's visitors arrive. On the way back, climb to Chlemoutsi, the great Frankish castle above the plain, then choose between the thermal springs of Kyllini and a lazy afternoon on the beach.
Across to Zakynthos
A short drive to the port of Kyllini and an hour at sea bring you to Zakynthos. After lunch in the Venetian-flavoured town, drive up to Bochali for the view over the harbour, and end the day on the cliffs of Keri for one of the finest sunsets in the Ionian.
Shipwreck cove, Blue Caves and turtle bay
A private boat follows the north coast to the Blue Caves and the famous Navagio cove, with time to swim in water that really is that colour. The afternoon belongs to the protected south: a gentle cruise in the bay of Laganas, where loggerhead turtles surface beside the boat.
Homecoming in Ithaca
The journey's last crossing sails north past Kefalonia to Ithaca. Wander the horseshoe harbour of Vathy, drive the ridge road to the fishing village of Kioni and raise a farewell glass where Odysseus finally came home. Your onward transfer is arranged to suit your flight.
